May God's healing presence be known in Oregon
Once again, our hearts break as we witness a senseless loss of life in the recent shooting at Umpqua Community College in Roseburg, Ore. Please join me in praying for the families and friends of those whose lives were taken. Let us also pray for the college community that became a sight of indescribable violence.
As people of God, may we continue to lift our voices and seek ways to bring an end to all acts of violence, including gun violence. Through our words and actions may we also support the mental health care that is needed by those who find themselves in dark and desperate places.
As the church of Jesus Christ, we know the One who is the hope of the world, the One who meets all where they are, and the One who promises to meet the deepest needs of the heart. Let us continue to be bold in offering the good news of Jesus Christ for the world around us.
May God's healing presence be known. May God's transforming power be realized in us and in our world.
